Womens Aid ABCLN provides support and help to those affected by domestic abuse. They do a great work in Ballymena at the Naomi Centre and throughout Northern Ireland. Here is some of their latest news;
With great support from the local community last year, Make It Better Week 2014 raised an astonishing £10, 091.53. This year we are hosting the Make It Better fundraising week from 18th – 24th May in the hope of exceeding last year’s total to raise funds for children and young people whose education has been affected by domestic violence. Through our work we are continually faced with the innocent victims of domestic abuse. Women’s Aid ABCLN has identified that domestic violence impacts on the development and learning of over 80% of young people accessing our services. We offer practical and emotional support working with children and young people that are at risk of underachieving in school. Our aim is to re-engage them in education and learning by providing practical resources and educational support. We provide a safe place to learn, free from violence, abuse and threat.
We need your help…
The Make It Better projects costs approx. £150,000 per year to run, and to continue providing these services to children and young people we need to raise enough funds to sustain this project every year. Our vital services provided support to over 5,000 children and young people last year who had been affected by domestic violence.
Do one thing…
We are asking you to get involved and ‘Do one thing to Make It Better’ for children and young people affected by domestic violence.
