Waterstones Ballymena is hosting an reading and book signing with local author Jan Carson. Her new book is entitled “Children’s Children” and is her second published novel after “Malcolm Orange disappears” which we blogged about here at Ballymena Today.
“Malcolm Orange disappears” is a story about a boy called Malcolm who physically begins to disappear. The novel touches on themes including friendship, loyalty, and love. In contrast Carson’s new book is a collection of fifteen short stories. Find out more on Friday 11th March.
The stories which cast a darkly humorous and often acidic eye over life in post-conflict Northern Ireland. The stories in the collection are an eclectic selection of pieces which deal with the theme of legacy, the achievements, issues and problems this generation has inherited from the previous. (Source)
