The Mid and East Antrim In Bloom competition has announced its winners and we are very happy to report that Ballymena has been well represented in the winners!

Ballymena wins at the Mid and East Antrim In Bloom Awards

Firstly Ballymena won the overall award for Large Town. Here is a list of the winners for the main categories and we are happy to see our neighbouring villages winning too.

  • Large Town – Ballymena
  • Small Town – Ahoghill
  • Large Village – Cullybackey
  • Most Improved – Cullybackey

Well done to all who are involved and give their time and talents to making our town and surrounding villages award winners!

The competition also singled out some very special gardeners, talents and schemes. Here are some of the local award winners:

Best Kept Front Garden:
Winner: Robin & Florence Balmer, Cullybackey

Best Kept Commercial Premises:Ballymena wins at the Mid and East Antrim In Bloom Awards
Winner: Willow Beauty, Ballymena

Tallest Sunflower Competition:
Winner: James Brown Kerr, age 7, from Cullybackey
Runner-up: Laura Stewart, age 12, from Ahoghill

 

Painting Competition:  16 & Under
Winner: Ola Myrcha, age 12, from Ballymena

 

A massive congratulation to all who were awarded a prize. Ballymena residents obviously have some very green fingers. A big shout out to the award winners from nearby Cullybackey and Ahoghill too!
