Many of us will find it very therapeutic to watch an artist at work as they use their brushes to create a piece of stunning original art. We caught up with Ballymena artist and art therapist, Ceri McKervill of Cerisart to find out more about her work. Ceri describes her paintings as ‘a mixture of colour and brushstrokes assembled to create multi-layered coloured forms of animals, people and birds, capturing a moment.’
You can see a good selection of Ceri’s original paintings in Midtown Makers, Church Street, Ballymena. Ceri, who joined Midtown a couple of year’s ago, says the local art and crafts studio and shop provides a good platform to showcase her work locally and she enjoys being in the community of like-minded creative people. She is keen to point out that while all the art on display in the shop is for sale, she is very happy to take commissions – in fact most of her paintings are bespoke orders.
You can keep up-to-date with the latest news and see many of Cerisart’s original paintings on her Facebook page here.
Ceri is also keen to use her skills to help others. One way she does this is through her work as an art therapist – using art as an alternative way of dealing with some of life’s difficulties and challenges. Find out more about this on her website – braveartmatters.co.uk
