Glarryford Ballymena – Throwback Thursday
This is Coleman’s Shop which is now Glarryford Post Office. As always our photograph has come from the Old Photos of Ballymena Facebook Page – click here to see lots more great archive photographs of Ballymena.
We also found this old snap from Glarryford which shows the train station.
The station was opened by the Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine and Portrush Junction Railway on 1 July 1856.[1] It was taken over by the Northern Counties Committee in January 1861. The station closed to passengers on 2 July 1973. (Source) Stay tuned to the Ballymena Today bog for more about our town, Ballymena.
