Music Tuesday is fast becoming one of our favourite blog posts to create. This week we are delighted to introduce (and reintroduce) some of our favourite local musicians – New Ancestors.
We have been listening to them for a long time, and under their original set up as the 1930’s and we are happy to see them going from strength to strength. In April this year we flocked to Spotify to get our ears around the first listen of the New Ancestors new EP Annabelle.
This is the first EP that the New Ancestors have released as a four piece and the addition has proved to only boost the band performance with this addictive tune. The EP features four new tracks, Annabelle, Red Wine, Clenched Fist and If only I Could – which all give us a hopeful glimpse into the music these guys will continue to make in the future.
If you like what you hear then there are lots of opportunities to hear the band in Northern Ireland – they recently supported Rae Morris in the Limelight in Belfast and have gigs planned in June and July.
New Ancestors will be playing the late night garden party in Glenarm castle as part of ‘Catalyst’ on 27th June.
They will feature at the Spectrum Festival Belfast in Mandela hall in Belfast on 3rd July, and they will be part of Tall Ships Belfast festival on Saturday the 4th of July in the Lavery’s Belfast tent. To keep up with what the band are up to click here to visit the New Ancestors website.
