Ballymena based suicide prevention charity Turning Point NI have proudly announced that Alan “The Apprentice” Philpott has agreed to become a patron of the charity.
Alan Philpott is a Ballymena man, a professional MMA fighter signed to BAMMA. Alan fights at Pro Bantamweight and is highly ranked in the UK/Ireland.
Turning Point NI is located on Mill Street and is a location where volunteers joint together to help anyone who is feeling suicidal or worried about someone who is. Turning Point NI also offers training for volunteers to help them go on to help others.
Suicide has a huge lasting impact on those loved ones left behind and to those in the community. The issue around suicide and suicidal ideation not only effects people with mental health problems but it also effects the everyday person who maybe struggling financially, through relationship breakdowns, substance misuse and other daily life events which may occur. Turning Point NI will offer a service which supports and comforts on a 1:1 basis either on the telephone or through a walk-in service, to help people manage when in crisis.
