Oxford Clinic Diagnostic Vascular Ultrasound Ballymena

Oxford Clinic on Broughshane Street, Ballymena has ben set up by a husband and wife team who want to offer a first-class vascular screening unit to Ballymena to reduce preventable cardiovascular deaths throughout the borough and beyond.

Nicholas is a local Ballymena man, having lived at 5 Market rd for almost 30 years. He is a Clinical Vascular Scientist, and studied Clinical Science MSc at Newcastle and Physiology BSc (Hons) at Kings College London, with further training for three years at the world-renowned John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals.

Nicholas was struck by the devastating discrepancy found between Northern Ireland and England regarding diagnostic health services provided, particularly in the Northern Trust area.

The screening on offer helps detect aneurysms in the abdomen and carotid which can lead to stoke or TIA’s. He also works with the venous systems, particularly in the legs, to diagnoses the cause of varicose veins, clots (DVT) and many other leg problems which cause pain.

The work of the Oxford Clinic is aimed at those who suffer from various cardio vascular conditions and diseases, to help prevent more serious ailments and to provide an earlier diagnosis to help reduce the risk or stroke and aneurysms across the borough.
