The Pentagon is a busy pace in Ballymena and in this weeks throwback Thursday we can see that not much has changes – now it is all busses and cars, back then it was all horses! This photograph was taken on a particularly wet day and we recognise the building in the background as the current Ballymena headquarters for Women’s Aid – The Naomi Centre.
The features have been retained and the building was refurbished a few years ago to give the Women’s Aid team a building which they could use to help those who have experienced or are living with domestic violence and abuse. Two local Ballymena businesses worked on the refurbishment project, Park Design Associates provided architectural drawings for the work and Wilson and Mawhinney carried out the work onsite.
If you are unfamiliar with the work of Women’s Aid then here is some information from their website.
