The Portglenone the Community Rescue Service continue to carry out excellent work and to serve the community. Here is some news from the Portglenone Community Rescue Service.
NEW TRAINEES COMPLETE THEIR INITIAL TRAINING
A very successful first weekend of the new SAR (Search and Rescue) Tech course. We had volunteers from across the Province from Kilkeel, Lurgan, Strabane, Belfast, Dungannon and some of our colleagues from Nenagh Ormond Search Unit who are aiming to be the first ALSAR accredited team in the Irish Republic. As the sponsoring Unit, the CRS will be working closely with our friends from NOSU to help them prepare for their ALSAR assessment.
Our thanks as usual to the training and catering team and to those others who assisted in any way.
The trainees will now return to their Units to prepare for the next stages in their training.

SCENARIO BASED TRAINING
Last night, again CRS volunteers took part in scenario based training. Foot teams were deployed to Bracknamuckley Forest, whilst a boat team headed that direction as well.
These exercises are vital for us to always be as prepared as we can and to put our training into practice.
All was resolved successfully and safely. Many thanks to those who organised the evening.

Ballymena Today would like to take this opportunity to thanks the volunteers who work very hard to make the Community Rescue Service and who help to keep our communities safe!
