Another successful day of Media training at MCC Computers Ballymena Media Centre took place recently. The Northern Ireland based Media Centre offers one day Media Essentials training courses to businesses, organisations and churches across the province who want to improve their understanding of effective media campaigns.
The course has been described as ‘taking media training to a new level’, ‘second to none’, ‘exciting’ and ‘very informative’.
“Our aim is to present a high value media training day for businesses or organisations who are prepared to invest time and money to get more out of the Internet, design and print and promotional events. Serious businesses take the handling of media seriously and don’t risk playing at it. This course will help attendees gain an understanding of how to tackle media with a purpose.”
Dr Philip PhD – course designer and facilitator, MCC Computers.
Media Essentials has been designed and is presented by Philip of MCC Computers in their Media Centre based in Galgorm, Ballymena.
The attendees at this recent course were –
Stuart from Robert Adair Jewellers, Mill Street, Ballymena. They have been in business in Ballymena since 1957 and are very keen to use the Internet and other media to build their community. He commented, “A very enjoyable day which flew in (always a good sign). I learnt about the importance of planning and being more structured in the way I use media so that it all works together to achieve max impact. Also great to hear other people’s views and how they market/promote their businesses. Really enjoyed Philip’s easy going and relaxed manner. All in all a great and very informative and thought provoking day.”
One Mill Lane is a stunning and luxurious rental property situated on the North Coast. Its owners, Gloria and Michael, also attended the Media Essentials Training Day. Michael said of the course, “I have been on other media training courses but Philip has designed this course to take media training to a new level. It was very informative and I now have a greater understanding of what it takes to run a good media campaign.”
LA Perfect offer semi-permanent make-up treatments. This relatively new business, set up by Luisa Anderson, is located on Greenvale Street, Ballymena.
Also at the course was Danny from Ballymena First Aid. Again this is a relatively new business and like LA Perfect, they understand the importance of having a good media campaign in place to help get these new businesses noticed and promoted to a wide audience. Danny said, “Philip’s wealth of knowledge and the manner in which the training was delivered were, in my opinion, second to none. The experience was thoroughly enjoyable and exciting.”
Media Essentials is not a course to confuse or frustrate and it provides a relaxed open space for conversation and questions with specific times to help shape your own thoughts. Each Media Essentials training day can be tailored to suit those in attendance but is typically split into four sessions. It simply deals with the essentials which allow you to reach your media aims and goals. The main points covered include –
The Media Essentials – the tools that are needed to create a successful campaign.
Working with the Essentials – in other words, creating valuable content through words, photos, videos, etc.
Share the Conversation – looking at how that content is shared to as many as possible.
Build a Campaign considers how to create a well-planned and structured media campaign that works.
