Ecospark run Video by Mark Kelly

Mark Kelly has made a wonderful drone video which follows runners in Ballymena as they are part of the Ecos Parkrun. Have a look below and share this with all of your runner friends if you spot them! The Ecos Parkrun is a 5km free timed run which is held every Saturday (weather permitting). This video showcases the amount of runners, families and the wide age range who take part each week. Ecos Centre Nature Park Ecos Nature Park is an oasis of wildlife close to the heart of Ballymena town centre. Eight kilometres of mostly flat footpath gently lead visitors around 220 acres of parkland that includes maturing woodland, peaceful lake and ponds, grazed meadows and hay meadows. In summer time the fields are adorned by, at times, hundreds of butterflies softly flitting around the meadows nectar from the wildflowers that are proliferating in the park. Ballymena Academy Old Pupil’s Association Cycle Sportive

Ballymena Academy Old Pupil’s Association Cycle Sportive has been planned for later this month after a successful event last year. Cycle Sportive held by Ballymena Academy Olds Pupil’s Association Pictured above are committee members and event organisers Sam McLean and Scott Edmonson at the Launch of the Ballymena Academy Old Pupil’s Association Cycle Sportive The Cycle Sportive which is in its second year aims to raise funds for the National Autistic Society and will depart from the Academy at 10am on Saturday 7th May, registration opens at 9.30am. The 40 mile round trip will take in Galgorm, Ballymoney, Dunloy, Glarryford, Dunminning and there will be refreshments along the way and post race. Prizes will be awarded to the first cyclist home and also the best turned out cyclist. Ballymena Academy is located on the Galgorm Road in Ballymena. The Academy has 88 acres of mature ground situated on the Galgorm Road just west of the town centre. The Old Pupil’s Association has been in place for many years and is enjoyed by lots of former pupils both young and old. By law, tyres must have a minimum of 1.6mm of tread, however, Micheldever/Protyre recommends that tyres with less than 2.5mm of tread should be considered for replacement. Owners of trailer caravans with tyres that are over 7 years old should have them replaced irrespective of their condition.
