The Portglenone unit of the Community Rescue Service (CRS) is organising a Big Breakfast on Sunday 15th March 2020 in The Wild Duck Inn, Main Street, Portglenone. This fundraising event, taking place from 9am – 12:30pm has a minimum donation of £5 each and there will also be a raffle held on the day. Pride of Britain NI Fundraiser of the Year 2017

Sharon Gibson from Portglenone recently won the Pride of Britain NI Fundraiser of the Year 2017 award. Many of you will probably have watched the awards ceremony on TV. Sharon is a volunteer for the Community Rescue Service who have a base in Portglenone. She was nominated for this award because of the massive fundraising effort she does for them. Portglenone Community Rescue Service – Five Years On

Portglenone Community Rescue Service recently shared this moving story on their Facebook page which emphasises the importance of their work. FIVE YEARS ON… Before starting out on their Saturday night safety patrol around the River Lagan in Belfast the volunteers from the CRS gathered at Lagan Weir along with the family and friends of north Belfast man, Joby Murphy who sadly lost his life following a concert at the SSE Arena in January 2012.
